Executive Director Terri Hobbs and Mary Ballantyne, corporate compliance officer, made a presentation April 25 to the Oregon Medical Case Management Group at Salem Hospital. The theme of the luncheon event was Medical Home Model. They spoke about Housecall Providers’ history, its mission to serve homebound individuals, related stories from primary care and hospice, and shared metrics with the audience of 50.

Carrie Thomas of Legacy Medical Group’s Home Health Care team also presented. The event was sponsored by Care Medical Equipment, employer of our board member, Shannon Borchert. Shannon attended the meeting as well.

Fun fact from today’s presentation: Did you know? The national average for a person’s stay in hospice is 14-20 days. The Housecall Providers Hospice average: 60-69 days. Why? We believe it is higher quality care provided by the same team that treated the patient throughout their time in our primary care program. People who receive compassionate care where they live enjoy a higher quality of life, even at the end of life.
