Seeking Veteran Volunteers

August 8, 2022

Veterans understand

Very often, only another Veteran truly understands.  That is the simple reasoning behind the establishment of our new Vet-to-Vet program, matching Veteran volunteers with Veteran patients.

Our Vet-to-Vet volunteers will make weekly visits to another Vet who is on hospice, disabled, or living with advanced illness – providing emotional support, companionship, or simply quiet presence and acceptance.  This is a simple but powerful way to be of service to each other, and to the larger community of veterans.

If you would more information about how you can participate, please contact Todd Lawrence, Volunteer Coordinator at (971) 202-5515 or email him at volunteers@housecallproviders.org.

Training is provided, and background check, drug test and relevant vaccinations are required.

Individuals are encouraged to wait a year after the loss of a significant person before serving as a hospice volunteer working with patients, families or caregivers.

Our newsletter is sent out three times a year to our patients and Housecall Providers supporters to let them know what we’ve been up to.
