Sr. Katie Hearn SNJM, (c) presents a check from the Sisters of the Holy Names Ministry Grants to Medical Director Benneth Husted, DO (l) and Executive Director Terri Hobbs (r).
Housecall Providers’ (HCP) special relationship with the Sisters of the Holy Names (SNJM) Community http://www.sistersoftheholynames.org/oregon/ began even before incorporating HCP in 1995. “Sister Pat Nizic was a personal friend who encouraged me in the early days when I was working alone out of my home,” remembered founder and medical director Benneth Husted, DO. “Later, she joined me and Marie Yager, a nurse practitioner friend, in becoming a founding board member.”
Since the initial support of Sister Pat, many SNJM sisters and associates have served HCP in various capacities. They have served as board members, supported events, volunteered with patients, and offered their expertise by facilitating board trainings – in all, contributing countless hours of service to help HCP grow into the 8 million dollar nonprofit medical practice it is today.
We have also received financial support for the SNJM Community though ministry grants totaling nearly $23,000. We have received many individual gifts from sisters and associates. The community has allowed us to use the Provincial House foyer and the Historic Laundry Building on many occasions. And last but not least, SNJMs have supported us with their prayers. This partnership has been a treasure and continues to inspire us to serve as they have done so faithfully throughout the years.
