We pride ourselves on meeting the needs of a population that is frequently isolated and underserved. Our volunteers are an essential part of the services we provide to the community. Our field-based volunteers are matched with patients who are seriously ill or homebound due to disability. By offering conversation, presence and emotional support, you will make a positive impact in their lives, just as they will impact yours.
‘We got the beat!’ Help research and create personalized music playlists for our patients. We also need assistance organizing our music library, preparing iPods for deliver and tracking requests. Volunteers trained for patient care are needed to engage patients with music directly and assist caregivers in the use of music therapy.
Our administrative volunteers assist with all levels of office-related tasks, from envelope stuffing to chart review. We offer a warm and inviting atmosphere where your work will be appreciated and respected. Volunteers have flexible schedules, are involved in meaningful work and gain invaluable experience.
If you have at least two hours per week to share with us, we’ll find a way to help you contribute in a way that makes a difference.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and pass a background check. TB testing required for patient care volunteers. We encourage individuals to wait a year after the loss of a significant person before serving as a volunteer and working with patients, families and/or caregivers. Housecall Providers offers medical in home care in Portland Multnomah, Washington and Clackamas counties.
